EastEnd Cabaret is Bernie Dieter (deviant diva) and Victor Victoria (half-moustachioed multi-instrumentalist): the gin-loving, globe-trotting, filth-mongering cult musical comedy duo. Audiences all over the world have been seduced by EastEnd Cabaret’s riotous comedy shows, which are bursting with salacious original songs, risqué audience participation and “jaw-achingly funny character comedy” (Backstage Pass).
The award-winning show was named ‘Best Cabaret’ at the Adelaide Fringe and London Cabaret Awards, and have received nominations for the Edinburgh Cabaret award, the Brighton Fringe prize and Perth Festival’s ‘Best Show’. They have performed for audiences from Edinburgh Fringe to Latitude Festival, toured their show around Europe, created mayhem in Spiegeltents all over Australia including the Famous Spiegeltent at the Melbourne Arts Centre, and have been in residence at the Wonderground on London’s Southbank. They have headlined BBC3 TV’s variety show “Live at the Electric” and Comedy Up Late on ABC2, and the upcoming NBC America show “Before The Morning After”. They have been heard on the airwaves of BBC 1,2 & 4, graced the front covers of Time Out London and the Scotsman, and appeared in the pages of The Guardian, the Independent and the Daily Telegraph.
Unashamedly filthy and blatantly funny, the duo is both a world-class example of modern cabaret and a satirical poke at the genre, in all of its East London-bedsit-living, gin-drinking, promiscuous glory. But at the heart of the show is their hilarious and volatile relationship – a sharp twist on the classic comedy duo – as endearing as it is unsettling. Blazing a trail for modern musical comedy on an international scale, EastEnd Cabaret’s dark, dirty and deliciously funny antics are “irresistible… definitely worth getting your face licked for” (The Guardian)
